Peer Education and Sexual Risk Behavior Among Adolescents: Does Urban Status Matter?

BACKGROUND: As a result of elevated sexual risk behaviors among teenagers, millions adolescents face and reproductive health challenges, including high rates an unfulfilled need for contraceptives, unintended pregnancy, unsafe abortion. To develop their skills prevent adolescent activity from being unsafe, especially in urban areas, teachers peers were advised that teaching about should be carried out at any school.
 AIM: This study aims to evaluate the effect peer education on prevention areas.
 METHODS: research was pre-experimental quantitative approach with one-group pre-post-test model. The survey used this had 63 respondents. Samples collected using purposeful sampling process. conducted April SMP Negeri X Yogyakarta until June 2017. In analysis, independent variable education, while dependent adolescents.
 RESULTS: Wilcoxon sign-rank test data analysis showed there no significant differences behavior areas pre- post-sexual through p-value = 0.086.
 CONCLUSION: There is impact reducing education. media may significantly influence conduct risk. environment, further recommended find best intervention more profound internal external relevant variables association study.
